One of Those Days
You know the kind.
The alarm doesn’t go off… or worse, it does—and you hit snooze like it personally offended you. You spill your coffee. Traffic feels like a social experiment designed to test your patience. Emails multiply like rabbits. And somewhere in the middle of it all, you think:
“Wow… today is just one of those days.”
And you’re not wrong.
When Everything Feels Off
There are days when it seems like the universe woke up and chose chaos.
- Plans fall apart
- People act weird
- Nothing goes the way you expected
And no matter how positive you try to be, there’s this underlying feeling of:
“Can I just fast-forward to tomorrow?”
We’ve all been there.
The Truth About “Bad Days”
Here’s the part we don’t always talk about…
These days are part of the balance.
Life isn’t meant to be one long stretch of perfect, smooth, everything-goes-right energy. If it were, we wouldn’t even recognize the good days when they show up.
From a metaphysical standpoint, life is constantly balancing energy:
- Highs and lows
- Ease and challenge
- Flow and resistance
And those “one of those days” moments?
They’re part of that natural rhythm.
Your Mind Wants to Spiral (Don’t Let It)
When things start going wrong, your mind loves to pile on:
- “Of course this is happening…”
- “Nothing is working today…”
- “Why is everything against me?”
Suddenly one small issue turns into a full-blown “everything is terrible” narrative.
But here’s the shift:
Not everything is going wrong.
A few things are going wrong… and your mind is filling in the rest.
The Energy Shift You Can Control
You may not control the day…
But you absolutely control your response to it.
Try this:
- Pause for a moment
- Take a breath
- Acknowledge: “Yep, today is a little chaotic”
And then ask yourself:
“How do I want to show up anyway?”
That question changes everything.
The Metaphysical Reframe
What if…
Instead of seeing the day as “bad,” you saw it as energy in motion?
- Maybe it’s clearing something out
- Maybe it’s slowing you down for a reason
- Maybe it’s testing your ability to stay grounded
Not everything is happening to you.
Sometimes it’s happening for your growth.
Even if it doesn’t feel like it in the moment.
A Little Humor Goes a Long Way
Let’s be honest…
Sometimes the best thing you can do is just laugh at it.
Because when:
- You spill your coffee
- Drop your keys
- And send a text to the wrong person
At some point you have to say:
“Alright universe… you’re doing a bit much today.”
And strangely enough, that laugh shifts your energy faster than frustration ever will.
The Reminder You Need
Here’s the truth you can hold onto:
These days don’t last.
They don’t define you.
And they don’t cancel out all the good in your life.
They’re just… one of those days.
And just like they show up…
They pass.
When you’re in the middle of one of those days, it can feel overwhelming.
But zoom out for a second.
Think about all the days that weren’t like this.
All the moments that went right.
All the times things worked out.
This is just a small piece of a much bigger picture.
So take a breath.
Give yourself some grace.
And remind yourself:
“This is temporary. Better energy is already on its way.”
Because it always is.
And that is how you continue to
Make Peace With Life—even on one of those days.
